WINNER ADULT PHOTOGRAPHY
"Home Away From Home 1" by Renata
It was necessary to temporarily live away from home, and this little one bedroom studio in rural Victoria was to be a much needed place for healing and recovery. My daughter and I lived in this little haven for 4 years. We made it a home away from home.

HIGHLY COMMENDED ADULT PHOTOGRAPHY
"Shining a Light" by Livonne Larkins
As part of a larger series of images celebrating the achievements of women over 60 years of age, I made a headdress based on the model's life then photographed the model wearing it. The headdress represents elements of the model, Suzie van Opdorp's life and career.

"King Lear" by Xi Xiao
Men's mental health is often overlooked. I have personally witnessed how important family and fatherhood can be to a man's sense of wellbeing. Like Shakespeare's King Lear, some men cannot manage all the subtle elements of loyalty and love and may find it hard to know who to trust in times of need. This image depicts the dignity of a man trapped in a moral dilemma.

"A Hidden Gem" by Kylie Marshall
Bushwalking is something that came to me later in life. I'm a complete novice, but I enjoy it. We live in a spectacular place and I love watching how nature changes as the seasons do. Being out in the fresh air, touching the trees and listening to wildlife brings me peace. It calms my mind and I get the clarity I need.

"Fireplace" by Monique Donaldson
This photo was taken at the Iron festival in Lithgow and was digitally altered, using a program to enhance the fire effects.

"Autumn Embrace" by Suba Bale
‘‘Autumn Embrace” is a photograph that captures a serene moment in nature, focusing on a tree with branches adorned in a mix of vibrant autumn leaves. The leaves display a range of colours from deep reds to bright yellows and oranges, creating a striking contrast against the clear, pale blue sky in the background. The branches, some bare and some still holding onto their foliage, stretch upwards, leading the viewer's eye toward the sky. The interplay of light and shadow highlights the textures of the leaves and branches, giving the image depth and a sense of dynamic movement.

"Loose Lips (Sink Ships) ii by Adelaide Worcester
This self-portrait is based on my ID tag photo on my first day at work, decades before developing work-related PTSD. This work reflects on the mental toll of working in a highly protected environment and the internalised stigma of talking about mental health.
By making and now offering this artwork in a public space, I have found a way to raise my voice about mental health. Each artwork I create brings me a step closer to closure and recovery."

"Homage to Badgerys Creek" by Peter Ball
My intention was to create something that might be reminiscent of those old train/travel posters. To obtain the silhouette, I took the photo not long after sunrise on one of those beautiful Katoomba 'rising mist' mornings. The inset cloud photo (oval) was taken on the south coast. I simply inverted the colours to give it a more 'unsettled' feel. The carriage is from a photo taken in Columbo (date unknown) by one J. Leslie Rees, who died some years ago. I am fortunate to have inherited all of his photos, and hope one day to be able to publish them.

"Mesmerized by Moths" by Misha Maddock

"Canvas Man's First Sighting" by Michelle Murtha
The elusive Canvas Man spotted in nearby bushland! This strange creature is very shy so it has been difficult to document and study. But here we have the first clear image of it to ever have been captured. Rest assured, though strange, it is a peaceful creature. The displays on its canvas are thought to be either a dominance or mating display. How they choose their ornaments is unknown as there have been some rather eclectic sightings.

"When you laugh everyone laughs with you when you cry ????" by Murray
When things are high everyone laughs with you. If you get too far up the mountain they may laugh at you or run away. When things are low you cry alone until some kind soul takes you by the hand. Hopefully they stay until you can give a little smile.

"I spy with my little eye's" by Rose Fitz-Patrick
"Mum and I took my nephew Leander and Lightning down to get our photo taken with Santa last year.
I got out of the car walked around to let the boys out and opened the door to find this. Was just so cute, lights chilling in his Santa shirt and Leander having a look what he was up to.

"Fallen Flower" by Catherine Cole
I had picked these flowers the day before and when I came out in the morning, the flower had fallen. I thought that is what life is like sometimes; things fall flat, but like the plant that the flower came from it still lives on, like we do. We get strength and go on.

"Fractured Reflections" by Thaïs Turner
These images were gathered during 2023 and 2024 in Sydney CBD and Parramatta. I find the reflection of one building in another quite fascinating. The variety of architecture, colours and surfaces in those city centres will provide endless material in the future. ‘Fractured’ can also describe how I have sometimes felt.

"Interlinked" by Josephine Goris - 'Josie On Film'
"Interlinked" is a multi-layered self-portrait, captured on 35mm film and hand-developed. My 1991 Nissan GQ Patrol, 'Scorpion' (pictured as well) stands as a metaphor for my life's journey, interwoven with the exploration of identity and the complexities of living with D.I.D and complex trauma.
Through my art I invite you in as I craft a dreamlike vision, fragmented and ethereal, mirroring the complexities of living with my conditions. This visual poetry is an ongoing narrative, woven throughout my film career, reflecting the unique tapestry of my lived experience.

"Flowers at Mt Tomah" by David
I went to Mount Tomah for a few hours and came across these beautiful flowers and I knew spring wasn’t far away.

"Simba drinking water from the water fountain" by Trish Standing
Our beautiful boy Simba.

"No Visible Means" by Rika Kristall
This piece was set up photographed as part of a personal response to the myth of The Handless Maiden, a maiden whose father (unwittingly) made a trade with the devil. The result of this trade was for the maiden to have her hands cut off and to go out into the world. She is aided by a guiding angel, and she finds her way to the King’s Forest. The angel helps her eat a single pear from the King’s Forest and she is observed by the gardener and then the King, who falls in love with her and makes her a pair of silver hands. This photo portrays part of this journey.
